UNION COUNTY DESERTED VILLAGE SITE:
The Deserted Village of Feltville is part of a larger Union County park called the Watchung Reservation. From the homepage, link below, click on the bar for Deserted Village Website Navigation. Of particular interest among the items listed are an interview with one of the former residents (in the Oral History section), and old maps and photos. There is a walking tour, and reproductions of the signs found within the village.

Not listed on the Navigation page, but also part of the Union County website is the brochure on Nicaraguan artist Roberto de la Selva which I authored and allowed Union County to use (see images of murals below):

GOODSPEED HISTORIES
My friend Betty DeSapio introduced me to this website, which ended up being the inspiration for Feltville Features. Marfy Goodspeed has not only created an incredibly engaging and educational historical website of a breadth I can only aspire to, but has been very generous with her time and advice (including directing me to her wonderful webmaster, and now my own, Phyllis Hartzell of WebOutsideTheBox.com.) There is a free newsletter you can sign up for. The website specializes in Hunterdon County historical topics but is of interest to anyone who love history.

GILCREASE MUSEUM, TULSA, OKLAHOMA
The Gilcrease Museum, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, began its life as a private museum showcasing the extensive collection of Thomas Gilcrease, a citizen of the Muscogee Creek Nation. From the start, Gilcrease made his focus for the museum the Americas. Gilcrease sold the museum and its collection to the City of Tulsa in 1955. Today, the collection includes Native American art from hundreds of indigenous cultures and nations across North and South America, as well as the largest public collection of art of the American West.
One of the significant additions to the collection was a 1948 acquisition of the estate of Thomas Moran, which included some 2,000 works of art and archival material which give insights into the creation of Moran’s works. Ironically, that same year, he purchased a collection of George Catlin, the painter made famous by his Native American portraits, and the same painter whose trip to England had inspired Thomas Moran’s father to translocate his family to America.
